Course 2 - Vision-setting and Culture in the Lab - Now Open!
Course Description
How do you live out your vision and culture, not only in daily lessons, but also in the lab? In this session, we will investigate how to promote your vision and culture in all aspects of the lab: from setting up, to modeling expectations, to assigning groups, to monitoring implementation, to analyzing results and discussing findings. We will use a lab on Matter and the Atom to guide our session.
Course Objectives
- Implementation of your vision and culture in all part of a lab
- Selection of labs based on their challenging quality and push for citing experimental evidence
Immediate Application in the Classroom
- Learn how to construct practices, routines and skills that reinforce your vision and culture for your chemistry class.
- Learn how to select labs that promote challenging investigation and require students to justify their conclusions based on
evidence from the lab and prior content knowledge
