Course Description:
Dealing with the NGSS can be a daunting task. You may have questions about how your school or district might implement these plans and then how this might affect you and your planning. In this module we will look at and try to break down some of the language and expectations in NGSS as well as examing best practices to achieve NGSS.

- What resources are out there to support your with your NGSS?
- How do you deal with schools and districts that are not
- Aligning your curriculum with NGSS
- Connecting Performance Expectations and TFA's Assessment Guidance
Knowledge:
- Teachers are familiar with the process of inquiry and the Science Inquiry Framework
- Teachers know about multiple modes of inquiry such as labs, observations, simulations, etc…
- Teachers will develop lesson plans that incorporate inquiry (guided to open)
- Teachers will effectively implement strategies that will support inquiry in their classroom
- Teachers will develop skills for managing inquiry
- Inquiry is an essential element to learning about the nature of science
- Inquiry is a learned skill and students must be given opportunities to practice
